Introducing Kamryn Grace Busick!

On Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 12:48pm we welcomed our beautiful "Baby Girl" Kamryn Grace Busick. At 6lbs, 10oz., and 19 3/4" long she came into this world with a great set of lungs and lots of love to share!

Our Birth Story
On Tuesday night, we went into Labor and Delivery to be induced. When we got there I was already 4cm and having contractions. The contractions were sporadic and not painful. Since I was already 4cm, they started me on a light dose of Pitocin (instead of the original plan of getting Cervadil) to get through the night. It was a rough night, and it had nothing to do with labor. Let's just say Labor and Delivery got very busy. Every time I have been in there, it has been empty but of course we get there and it was pretty busy (It was a full moon if you believe in that sort of thing). We probably had at least 6 different nurses. They ended up having 2 births and Greg and I are positive they did not get epidurals! After a lot of screaming and swearing, I told Greg I BETTER get that epidural! LOL. The doctor came in the next morning wanting to break my water (currently 4cm-5cm with no pain). I told her I was scared because I really wanted an epidural. :) Side note: with Noah, they broke my water and I had him within the hour which meant no epidural. My doctor is amazing by the way. She had the anesthesiologist come in 20 minutes later and he gave me my epidural and they increased my Pitocin. After getting the epidural, I went back down to 4cm so she came back around 11:45am (still at 4cm) and broke my water. About 45 minutes after that, I felt that "pressure" everyone talks about. Just like with Noah, I jumped from 4cm/5cm to 10cm within the hour! After 5-10 minutes of pushing, she was here! No pain and it was an amazing experience.

On to the Photos!
Waiting Waiting Waiting.
There she is! She was pretty blue!

So the big questions...

How's Kamryn Sleeping?
Kamryn is a typical nocturnal newborn :) We aren't getting much sleep these days. We can count on getting sleep from about 9pm-12am. After that, it changes every night. Before last night, she was staying awake on and off between 12am and 4am. Then after that she would sleep until 7 or 7:30. Last night she slept 9pm-12am, asleep at 1:30am and then up almost every hour after that until 4:30am. Then back to sleep until 7:30am. I wonder what tonight will bring us? haha. I guess I just assume I won't be sleeping for a while! During the day, she sleeps a ton! Typical newborn I guess!

How is Noah?
Noah is fabulous! He is a pretty awesome big brother. If Kamryn isn't in the room, he is always asking where she is. He HAS to hold her before bed. He is constantly giving her kisses when she is laying on the floor. We went to the zoo yesterday, he said Hi to the monkeys and then told the monkeys "this is my baby sister!" It was adorable. Of course he has had his jealous moments but what child hasn't? All in all, he is doing really well so far. We are pretty proud parents!
