A Busy Weekend!

This past weekend we stayed pretty busy. Saturday we had nice weather so I decided to clean up the backyard and pull all the weeds. I think I did a pretty good job! Haha. We wish we threw down some dirt and grass seeds before the big rain we had on Sunday. Oh well! Hopefully next week we can put some more work back there. We are more focused on the front yard. We are hoping to somehow put some wood down (sorry no photo) as a deck and then put some chairs out but we will see. We found out that we may be able to get some dirt, mulch, and even wood for free, or a cheap price, through the Coast Guard.

Sunday was a stormy day in Cape May. Greg had the day off so we had a nice lazy morning. We are not ones to sit still for very long, so while Noah was sleeping, we decided to be fun (haha) and put up a tent in our living room. It was entertaining, and when Noah woke up from his nap, he didn't know what to do! Once he warmed up to it he was running all over and banging on the sides. He was pretty entertained for a while!

We FINALLY put child safety locks on the cabinets. Noah LOVES playing under the sink, and it was starting to drive me a little crazy. :)
 Helping and Encouraging Daddy...
Sunday afternoon we went to a neighbor's 3rd Birthday party. Even though it was pretty windy and raining, the party was great! There was a magic show, pinata, pizza, cupcakes, and so on! Noah enjoyed every bit of it and loved running around with all the kids.

Trying to eat other kids' food

Noah wasn't a fan, but Daddy was!!
Limbo! Noah wanted to help instead...
 Loving all the balloons...
 The sitting didn't last long...
Pinata!!
    Candy!!

Tonight, we were invited over to a friend's house for a BBQ. We were able to meet her husband, who is stationed on the Vigorous as well, and enjoyed some food and watched our kids play together. Very fun and entertaining!

Hope everyone had a fun weekend. We heard California had some AMAZING weather! We're jealous! The weather here is very sporadic; one day it will be 70 degrees and sunny, and the next day it is windy, rainy, and cold!
Tomorrow is the first day everyone is back from leave on the Vigorous. Greg will finally get to meet some of his shipmates. He is definitely looking forward to it. It is a good feeling to finally be on the boat he was assigned to! :)

Welcome Home Vigorous!!

This morning the Vigorous arrived! I was so happy to be there to watch the boat come in, but the best thing was watching the loved ones and their children reuniting. As we waited for the boat to come in, the kids were jumping up and down. Their bursts of energy showed how excited they really were.

I see it....!!
 There it is!

Loved ones anxiously waiting for their Coasties!

Finally Greg can get on "his" boat and get to know everyone! Today he is on duty and will spend the night on the boat. On the Dependable, he was able to come home because they didn't have a bed for him. But now that he has a bed to sleep in, he must stay the night. He went to work at 6am and will be home at 4pm tomorrow! Fingers crossed he gets off early because most of them are off for the week!

BBQ with Friends!

Tonight, we invited friends over for a BBQ. Everyone has been so inviting towards us that we thought it would be great to invite everyone over to our house for a barbecue. Most of their hubbies are out on the Vigorous and returning tomorrow morning, so it was a perfect night to get them out of the house and "relax" the night before!
I must say, we were definitely out numbered...by ALL the kids! ! The house was PACKED with little nuggets! It was fun to watch all of them play together. Noah seemed to have had a lot of fun. The kids played with all the toys in the house and then after dinner they played in the backyard for a bit. Once all the parents were done with dinner, we moved to the big park behind our house.
I think it was a pretty successful night and everyone had a great time. We had barbecued hot dogs and sausage, pasta salad, fruit salad, spinach dip, mini cheesecakes, cookies, and so much more! It was all delicious!

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL! It was 70 degrees at 8:30 this morning! It's been so amazing! It is still pretty windy here and the pollen has been outrageous! (Ha, in my opinion!). I went on a walk this morning and left all the windows open. When I got home, there was pollen everywhere! Oh the things I learn in a new place! Maybe that is why we have A/C?? Oh wait, we found out tonight that it doesn't work..awesome! ;)

Hope everyone is having a nice week!

We are back and "almost" settled!

The past week has been crazy busy!
Last weekend we went to Atlantic City and walked around the Boardwalk. We ate at Rainforest Cafe which was delicious! We are beginning to realize that it's too hard to take Noah to restaurants. He just does not want to sit still! :) Even though we had to eat extremely fast, the food was still delicious!

On Wednesday we moved into our new house!! Moving day was pretty crazy. The movers got to our house around 9:15am and were gone before lunch. They were suppose to help unpack boxes and take all our garbage but we told them they could leave because it was easier for us to just do it all. When they got their in the morning, I realized having Noah around with all the doors and back gate open, it was just not possible to get anything done. I asked a neighbor I had met a couple weeks ago if she would watch him and she was happy to! She has 2 daughters (One is Noah's age) and was also watching another little boy so Noah had plenty of people to play with! Once we had the kitchen settled and the movers were gone (2 hours or so), I picked up Noah. She said he was good, but he had random crying moments and at times would go to the window and ask for "Dada", but other than that he was pretty good.
We are still working on hanging pictures, but that will come with time! Photos don't do it's justice but here you go!
We just got chair covers for those lovely green chairs! (Sorry Nana!) :)
 LOVE our Kitchen!
Living Room Needs Some Color! Eek!
I'm trying to find some cute bright colored pillows but no luck yet!
The only color to brighten this room are Noah's toys! Haha!
Testing out the barbecue Greg's grandparents handed down to us!
Works great and our steak was delicious!

Yesterday, Greg had the day off so we got out and enjoyed the weather! We took about a 12 mile bike ride around the town. We road to the Lighthouse and walked around a bit. Then road back into town and road along the beach. The town is starting to get more crowded and most of the shops and restaurants are open now.

Today, Greg surprisingly got off work at 2pm instead of 7:30pm so we went to the beach! There is a beach entrance right on base, so it's literally a 2 minute drive! It was 80 degrees today and beautiful! Noah absolutely LOVED the water! It was pretty cold but he didn't care! He had so much fun playing with sand, sea shells, and the water.

Greg gave Noah a bath when we got home...I walked in the bathroom to this...Haha!

Our Home. We love our new home. The movers were actually surprised when they came in; saying this was a nice unit, better than the other ones they had seen. So it was good compliment! The storage in our house and in our backyard is amazing! There are little projects we need to get done, like adding shelving in all the closets and storage outside. We want to do something to the front of the house, add flowers or something to spruce it up a bit! Hanging photos and curtains are on the top of the list, but we keep putting it off. :) There is a park right in our backyard and another one behind the next group of houses. We usually go over to the other one, where there are more kids. Noah loves seeing other people and ends up following them around the park.

Well, I think we are all caught up!
Cheers!
