Colorado with the Johnstone Family!

We arrived in Colorado around 5pm on Monday, June 13th. I really wish we could have come on a weekend for this visit. My sister and Doug both had to work all week, but fortunately Gavin played hooky from daycare and got to hang out with us all week! Doug is up at 2:30am for work, so he was home by 2pm. Megs was home by 6!

On Tuesday, we spent the morning settling in and resting from our 2 day drive. We drove from Melissa, TX to Amarillo, TX and stayed in a hotel, then finished off our drive to Colorado the next day. We packed a lunch for everyone and went over to Aurora Reservoir. What a beautiful spot! It had rentals for kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, BBQs, and fishing boats. They also had a snack bar, a beach area for swimming, a playground, and some walking/biking paths. We ended up hanging mostly by the playground and then headed out for some frozen yogurt.

Little rascals after ice cream just had to get in near the splash area! I don’t blame them!

Wednesday morning we went to the neighborhood splash pad. I gotta say, Gavin knows his comfort zone and that was definitely HIS spot. He was all smiles and had a blast. Kamryn likes everything Gavin likes so she was all smiles. Noah was cold haha. Oh Key West, what have you done to our children! LOL! The water was pretty chilly!

Lots of playing outside and bonding is basically what we did in Colorado and we loved every second of it. Water balloons, squirt guns, power wheels, swimming pool, popsicles, walks with Cooper, you name it! The kids were always asking to go outside to play! Kamryn and Gavin were best buds from the start. It was nice to see because most kids we see want to hang out with the big kid (aka Noah). So I’m glad Kamryn and Gavin were so close. Overall, they all played well together.

Thursday night was our last night, so we roasted marshmallows in their backyard! A Busick favorite of course!!

Thanks Megs, Doug, Gavin, and Cooper for having us! We love you guys so much and enjoy our time EVERY TIME!! I wish goodbyes were easy but they never are! We have had a lot of  “see you laters” in the last month but also some exciting “hello’s”!

Photo OVERLOAD but so many memories made! I can't wait to go back! :)

Reunion, Wedding, and Family!! TEXAS!!!

On Friday June 10th, we made it to Melissa, TX where we met up with the whole Busick clan for Seth and Chrystal's wedding weekend! Mike and Cathy rented a home with a pool. The kids connected and played from the second we walked in the door. They were all so excited to see each other! It didn't take long for them to throw on their swim suits and jump in the pool. They were all a bunch of little fishies!

Saturday night was the wedding, so we spent the majority of the day in the pool and taking naps! The kids were in the pool by 9am!

The WEDDING!!
WOW. The Cotton Mill in McKinney, TX. This location had a rustic but elegant feel to it. It was absolutely beautiful. The wedding ceremony was outside where Chrystal walked through these huge wooden rustic doors, or as Greg would describe them as “Castle doors”. It gave me chills seeing her walk down the aisle. You could feel the love between Seth and Chrystal, it was a lovely ceremony! I have to say, Kamryn was in absolute awe of the bride from the moment she walked down the aisle, all the way to when we saw her the next day!

This wasn’t just any wedding. This was also a huge family reunion. The whole Busick clan came from all parts of the United States. We are talking Virginia, California, Florida, Indiana, and Texas!! I think we all just had permanent smiles on our faces just being all together. It’s not very often that you can get the WHOLE family together!

The reception was indoors and let me tell you, it was historic, it was rustic, it had elegance, and it had a ton of space! They mentioned there were 160 people there and you would have never thought that with all the space there was, no one was cramped.

The dancing had to have been the kids’ favorite. Jack, Charlie, Nettie, Laina, Noah, and Kamryn were DANCING MACHINES!!

A little explanation, Seth is a Fireman and they wanted to do a little something for the kids. They had a firetruck outside the venue for the kids to see and play on. Of course, all our Busick/Stewart kids (and Greg) loved it! ;)

Some more photos before and during the celebration!

I just can't get over how much Kamryn loved Chrystal. She was a true princess in her eyes!

The next day, we had lunch at Aunt Laura’s house in Grapevine, TX. The kids enjoyed the pool while the adults enjoyed each other’s company….oh and the chips, dips, mimosa’s, and fajitas!!

Charlie dominating the pool!
Noah, we all know could live in a swimming pool if he wanted haha.
Noah (and Charlie, too!) helped Jack with a big jump which moments later lead Jack to ALSO dominate the jumping rock!

Nettie trying SO hard to talk herself into jumping in!

Laina, always as cute as a button!
Adults need to relax, too!

We feel extremely lucky to have such wonderful family in our lives and the fact that we were able to spend time with the whole Busick family is truly a blessing.
