More Halloween Fun!

We are loving this Halloween season! We have been very busy with all the events going on around here. I love it because it makes time go a little faster!

On Saturday, we went to the Key West Botanical Gardens for Trick or Treating, Costume Contest, Food, Face Painting, and a Bounce House. I didn't realize it was trick or treating until we got there so Noah didn't wear his costume. Oops! I felt bad because he loved watching the costume contest for the older kids. He wanted to go up on stage so bad!
Ring Toss for Candy!

Noah's First Face Painting..He asked for Mickey Mouse right away..
I was impressed he stood very still and said thank you when he was done :)
BUT, Creepiest Mickey Mouse Face Painting I've Ever Seen lol!

Today, Sunday, we went to Children's Day. I'm pretty sure, in my opinion, they made Children's Day on the same weekend as Fantasy Fest because all the parents felt guilty leaving their kids at home while they party for 2 straight days. lol. But seriously is that the real reason? If you don't know what Fantasy Fest is, go ahead and look it up. ;)
So Children's Day...I really enjoyed. Being spoiled through the military with events that are free, I forgot that there are also events out there that do cost money. But it was all worth it and Noah and I had a great time (little Kamryn slept an hour and a half of the two hours we were there!) It was basically local companies, schools, sports, etc with booths to raise awareness or money. Since Noah's school is nonprofit, they were out there with candy and games. There were tons of bounce houses, rides, a costume contest, all kinds of food from Conch Fritters, to hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, popcorn, and snow cones!

We don't know this little girl but she's adorable and had no problem smiling at the camera :)
Never afraid of any mascots! He ran up to him so fast! I think this is a Manatee??

Going UP!

Our awesome neighbors Jenny and Carter. We had a fun time walking around today :)
 Boat Ride!
Carter just started walking..Cutest little Popcorn I've ever seen!
The way Noah is standing in this picture makes him look too old! My little boy is so big now!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
The weather here has been amazing. It's been warm with a nice breeze. Ah this is the life! Beautiful weather means we can play outside more often! Happy kids, happy mom :) And I get a little time in with friends meeting up at the park, which is one of my favorite things!

Happy Halloween!!!

Noah's First School Field Trip - THE PUMPKIN PATCH!

On Thursday, Noah's class went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Although pumpkins obviously have to be shipped here, it was a very cute little pumpkin patch. They had arts and crafts, hopscotch, bowling, tattoos, bean bag toss, hula hoops, and a story time section. It was a perfect little spot.

 Kamryn had fun, too ;)

Happy 6 Months Kamryn!

Happy 6 Months to our baby girl! I swear time is flying way faster than it did with Noah! She is sitting up with support, mumbling words that sound mainly like "dada" (she must miss her daddy!!). Kamryn is one happy little girl who loves watching her brother play and interact with her. She loves loves loves her jumperoo! She's been eating solids for the past couple weeks; avocado, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and apples. All have been a success. AND we have a tooth! Last week, I took her into the doctors for her cough and cold and she weighed 15.9 lbs and is 26". We are going back for her 6 month appointment next Thursday.

I love you baby girl! You brighten my day everyday! I love your big smile, your laugh, your laid back personality already, and the joy I see in your eyes when you look at other people (and me hehe).

Sweet Potatoes!
Sitting!
Here comes that tooth!
Of course we whipped out a little dessert and candle! ;)

Grandpa Visits!

My dad came to visit us for 10 days and it was just what we needed. It had only been a week since Greg had left and I was already feeling stressed and missing him. I know I said before that I was feeling positive and that this was going to be a great patrol but that kind of changed quickly. I can honestly say I miss Cape May. I miss walking out my backyard to the playground where if you were out there for 10 minutes, someone was bound to come out and chat. It feels quiet around here, and I start to feel bad for Noah. I wish there were more kids out! It's so sad that we have to walk to the next neighborhood, to what he calls "the kids park" to even see a human being! BUT it's only been a few months and the weather is getting cooler so maybe more people will come out ;) The point is, my parents deciding that my dad should come visit was the best thing ever! It was a quick 10 days and we had a great time!

Started the week off at the Fall Festival.
"Needle in a haystack" looking for toys :)
 Painting his Pumpkin!
 Great result!
 LOVED the dunk tank!
 Petting a baby Alligator!!!!
 Hayride!
Went to the pool...Noah with his Virgin Margarita and Grandpa with his Beer :)
 Hello Gorgeous!
Walking around Sunset Pier/Mallory Square/Duval Street

Took my dad on a 5 mile walk this day. hehe. We stopped the Southermost Point
We were closer to Cuba than the nearest Walmart!
We eventually made it to the beach but not for very long.
Sand just doesn't work well with babies...in my opinion!
Not sure Kamryn liked the salt water either!
The water is still pretty warm but not as warm as it was when we first moved here.
It's very refreshing!
My dad's last night we went back to Sunset Pier and had dinner and watched the sunset.
We even got to see a cruise ship leave which was pretty neat.

YUP we live in a beautiful place!! Thanks Dad for visiting we had the best time. I even learned my way around this little island! Greg will be happy about that! ;) You were so helpful and the kids and I had a blast. It was just what we all needed. Now the countdown until we see you in December! Woo!!

Living the lifestyle that we do, you have to do your best to stay positive or you will crumble. I have been given so much advice and most of it is to stay strong, especially for your kids. When you find out the next place you are living, be excited, because if you are excited and happy, your kids will be, too. There is no reason to drag your child down just because you don't like the outcome of something. I am so grateful to have put Noah into school. I feel like he gets his dose of friends and kid play. I had a few rough days before my dad came, but I tried so hard not to show that because kids can sense that kind of thing. Even babies! Kamryn knew her mama was acting weird! ;) This life is for sure an adventure, it's not all sunshine and rainbows but we sure have lived in a couple of beautiful places. I am so grateful for that, but things get tough and that's what life is all about. (cheesy I know!) You live, you learn. I have so much support around me that just a phone call away (or even a knock at the door), can put a smile on my face!
