FIRST Patrol!

Greg is officially out at sea and ready for work! He has been so excited to get underway and start learning more. He was nervous he was going to get seasick...unfortunately, most new people do. The doctor onboard gave him a patch to put behind his ear which hopefully will help.
We were lucky enough to get to spend the morning together. Greg was able to sleep in a bit, we went for a walk and played at the park, then put Noah down for a nap in which we were able to have some time together sans kid. We dropped Greg off to the boat and came back later to watch the boat leave. I met a couple of nice people who told me about an area towards the backside of base where we could see the boat leave and the Dependable come in.

There he is! On the right...so proud of him!
Biting his nails of course ;)

The camera kind of drops down because I could see Greg waving at us..haha
On Our Way to the Jetty

So, I thought maybe there was something wrong with me because I wasn't showing too much emotion but when I saw that boat backing out of the pier, reality hit me and my hubby (and Noah's Daddy) was leaving us for 60+ days. All these thoughts have gone through my head; I can't do this, Why am I doing this? Why did I agree to this? But when I got home from seeing the boat leave, all our friends were outside at the park and it was just what I needed. Spending time with friends is so much better than going inside and sulking! I'm not going to lie, I'm emotionally exhausted but I am so glad to know that I have friends here that I can count on. I'm grateful for Noah to keep me busy, smiling, and focused on other things. I am grateful for family and friends who have called, text, facebooked, and emailed (Thank you!!). It's only day 1, but I know the days will get better. I try to be tough, and I am going to keep trying because I know that I am not the only one going through this and missing my spouse. I am one tough cookie!! ;)

I am so proud of Greg and excited that he has been looking forward to this patrol. He is going to see some beautiful things and I can't wait for him to come back and show me (or "us"...as in you, me, and Noah) pictures and videos. We went out and bought Greg a waterproof camera so he is ready and knows I will be posting some when he gets back!

I am leaving Tuesday for California for 6 weeks! I am so excited to see everyone! I think going to home will keep me busy and time will go by pretty quick!

As for hearing from Greg, I should be hearing from him via email. Sometimes the computers go down but he said at least 3-4 times a week. Then when he gets to port, he can call me.

Mother's Day Weekend

First of all, I'm sorry for lagging so much on the blog. The only time I have to blog is at night and, no offense, I would rather spend quality time with my hubby. You understand ;)  Greg leaves soon, so I am taking in every moment I have with him!
So with that said, the weekend started off on Friday when Greg's boat put on a barbecue for everyone. There were burgers, hot dogs, chips, beer, soda, and gatorade. It was a nice gathering and I was able to meet some more people and their families from the Vigorous. Greg was on Duty that day (Dish washing!!) but was able to come for a couple hours.
Greg, Noah, Shea, and Seth

Saturday we went to the beach with some friends. The weather was in the 70s that day so we were pretty comfortable on the beach. Noah absolutely loves the beach!
This little guy wanted to go swimming..we had to force him to hold our hand!!

Mother's Day was a busy busy day but the best day so far! Greg got up with Noah (at 6:15!! ugh) and made me breakfast! After breakfast we went on a walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather, of course stopping along the beach so Noah could do some running around...

After that, I was lucky enough to take a shower and get ready for the day in peace! Thanks Babe! Then we were off to Ocean City Boardwalk. We have never been and it is about 40 minutes from where we live. The town is beautiful and the Boardwalk was just like any other Boardwalk...but maybe a little better ;) I was even able to go on Noah's first ride at the "Carnival".

When we got back from Ocean City, we decided to go for a bike ride around town. We ended up going to an awesome restaurant called The Rusty Nail where they had a beach pit, delicious drinks, and live music.

Like I said before, this was the best weekend since we have been here and all I have is my husband and Noah to thank for that! Thanks Gregory for a fun weekend and a memorable Mother's Day! I love you!

Helicopter Tour!

Today, Noah and I were lucky enough to get a tour of the HH-65 Dolphin Helicopter. They primarily work with search and rescue as well as law enforcement and homeland security. They landed right on the parade field here on base which was pretty neat to watch and Noah LOVED it.

Noah's First Zoo Trip! And More..

Yesterday was Noah's first time at the Zoo! What is so great about the Cape May Zoo is that it is FREE! They only accept donations. It's a smaller zoo so they don't have gorillas, elephants, etc BUT they do have lions, tigers, and cheetahs which was pretty neat. Noah was just happy to run around free and look at all the animals. It was the first time we really let him run around and enjoy something. He was all over the place but it was totally worth seeing how happy he was.

Goats!

 Chicken!
 Peacock!
(He climbed up there all by himself!)
We were walking and he decided to randomly take a break! Haha. At least I got a front shot. I feel like I am always taking photos of his back!
 LOVE Giraffes!!
 Love My Baby!

What Does a Pig Say?

Later in the day (after nap), we went to the Wildwood Boardwalk which is about a 15 minute drive from home. It is still considered "off-season" so it was pretty dead walking the Boardwalk but it was still fun. The Boardwalk consists of a TON of rides, water slides, carnival-like games, shopping, food, and the BEACH! We will likely be going back to see what it's like during the season. From photos and what I am have heard, it gets pretty crazy!
 Vroom Vroom!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

I realized today that I haven't blogged in a while, so I decided to do a little photo fun today! The weather has been all over the place these days and today was chilly! We started today with a walk (like most days!). Our walks are getting shorter nowadays because Noah doesn't want to sit in the stroller (boo!).

We took a break along the beach, he was OBVIOUSLY excited about it!
Today, I walked and talked to him about flowers.
I asked him show me where the flowers were...

We kept the day busy with the park of course!

 Just LOVES that Lawnmower!

And there's always the backyard to play in, too!

Greg got home late tonight, but always makes time for the little guy before bed!

...And Lion King was on tonight!

WELL, our bedroom set FINALLY came today!! It looks amazing! I can't wait to sleep in our new tempurpedic (knock off that is) bed! :) Tomorrow we are going to the Cape May Zoo! Greg only has 1 day off this week so we are going to make the best of it. Tomorrow should be better weather, too! I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures taken!

My sister's bachelorette party was last weekend. Let's just say it was the best weekend I have had in a LONG time! Love you sissy! Can't wait for the wedding! OH! and did I mention Noah is going to be in the wedding! Wee! Can't wait! :)
