Saturday was the 222nd Anniversary of the United States Coast Guard. Cape May celebrated this day by making a weekend out of it. Friday night, we were given a fireworks show on the Parade Field on base. They were pretty impressive!
Before the firework show, we went to a barbecue at our neighbors' house. All the kids had a blast, and we enjoyed delicious food and drinks!
On Saturday, we went to "Coast Guard Day" on base where they had a TON of food (hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, taquitos, jambalaya, pasta salad, salad, baked beans, cake, snow cones, and probably more!!) They had jump houses, a rock climbing wall, live band, Philly Phanatic, slip and slide, games, and a boat ride. The weather was pretty hot, as usual, but we were grateful for the water slides!

Loved it so much, he wanted to go again!
With Philly Phanatic...Noah was FREAKED! haha.
Before this, Philly Phanatic tried to pull Greg's hat off his head LOL.
Tonight was the Sunset Parade but we didn't make it out. Sunset Parade consists of marching troops, the Recruit Silent Drill Team, the Recruit Band, cannon fire, and a helicopter flyover. Hopefully we will make it out to the last one in September.
Great NEWS! Greg is in the process of writing a blog! He should be posting it very soon!
Speaking of News....I sent in a couple photos of the kids when the Vigorous arrived to the local newspaper. They posted it online, I doubt they will be putting it in the newspaper. :) Here you go! Parents Return Aboard the Vigorous
