We're Home in Petaluma!

Well!! We survived the flight!

But before I get into the flight...

We started the day with finishing up our house and getting everything out and cleaned. It was a rough night, Noah woke up three times, and Greg and I woke had a rough night sleeping on an air mattress. Noah woke up with a raspy voice and Greg with a cold. You can say we were a little nervous about how the flight might go. We were pretty nervous. All the change that was going on, you could tell it was affecting Noah. He was..lets say..a bit of a mess. ;) But by the time we got to the airport, Noah was all smiles. He just loves airplanes!

So once we were on the airplane, we found out that there were some problems with the bathrooms so we ended up being delayed for over an hour. That was rough considering there is already so much you can do to entertain a kid for 6 hours let alone adding on another hour! Well anyway, we mainly entertained Noah with food and walking up and down the aisle. He wasn't really in the mood for toys. He was actually pretty tired, but had a hard time falling asleep and only slept for about 30 minutes. All in all, I was just grateful that Greg was with us this time!
My dad picked us up and Noah was stoked! He ran as fast as he could, even cutting some people off, and right into Grandpa's arms! Always fun to watch :)
So we made it safe, and the plane ride was just OKAY. lol. Again, I would say nonstop is probably not the best thing to do but at least we get the ride over with and get home faster! ;)

Only a little tired ;)

It still doesn't feel like we have moved back to California. Greg and I feel like we are visiting! But we are settling in nicely and love catching up with family. Yesterday, Cathy watched Noah so we could head over to the Coast Guard Station to get some stuff done. I haven't really seen the base besides the gym where I played basketball in high school. There are a lot more amenities there and I'm looking forward to exploring. I have already been connected to the Facebook page and it sounds like they have a lot of things going on around base. I love that they have play dates in the gym every week, and if I wasn't pregnant, they have FREE exercise classes every day in the gym! Sounds amazing to me! They have a heated pool, small lake, bowling alley (Tuesdays are free), movie theater (Friday showings are free), pizza place, sports bar, coffee shop, library, post office, chapel, bank, hair salon and barber shop, mini mart, exchange, teen center, child care/preschool/pre-k, Subway, and a gas station!

Hope everyone is well! :)

Move Update...

Well, our move is coming right along. A couple friends came over today and helped Greg move all the furniture out. So for the next 4 nights we will be sleeping on the floor! Well..Miss Preggo will be on a twin mattress..thanks babe! Anywho, the storage company we use allows us to use their moving truck for free for a day, so we took advantage!

While Greg got everything ready for the move, Noah and I headed on base where they had a kids Christmas party where we got to see Santa, eat breakfast, and watch a magic show. I would say that today was Noah's first time meeting Santa. The last couple of years he was just too little but the past couple weeks, we have been talking to Noah about Santa and he is really understanding. So when he saw Santa this morning, he definitely did not want to stand in line. He wanted to run right up to Santa and say hello.

When it was finally his turn, he went right up to Santa and gave him a high five and was happy to hop on his lap!

The next couple of days we will be packing up the rest of the house. A lot of little stuff that needs a box! And hopefully I can go through my clothes and box up some more...as of now, my suitcase is packed way too full. We plan to ship home some toys, jackets, and other things that will not fit in our suitcases. I can't believe the day is coming! We have been spending a lot of time with friends and taking it all in. Last night we took a Christmas holiday lights trolley tour around Cape May and then walked around the downtown area. Tomorrow morning we plan on going downtown to see Santa one more time. Cape May is so beautiful around Christmas time!

WE'RE HAVING A......

GIRL!!!!
Seems like it was just yesterday I was announcing we were having a boy and now we are super excited to be announcing a baby girl in April 2013! Bring on the tutus, headbands, dolls, play kitchens, and bright colors! I can't say I am obsessed with pink, but don't mind a little bit of it. My mind is spinning with color ideas for her room already! Pinterest here I come! It's going to take some willpower to keep away from the baby girl section when I am out and about shopping..or even online!
Greg is pretty excited as well. He can't wait to have a "daddy's little girl". And from what I've seen, this little girl is going to have him wrapped around her cute little finger! ;) He is going to love every moment!
I sit here wondering if she will look like Noah when he was born, or if they will be totally opposite. I imagine her looking just like daddy since Noah looks identical to his mama! I guess we will see!

Hi Baby Girl!!

So I am sure you are all wondering what names we have spoken about. WELL, we have a couple ideas but we keep changing our minds. So we are not quite ready to announce anything official :)

Adding a girl to the Busick/Jensen clan of grandchildren makes the "score" 3 boys vs. 2 girls (Busick's) and 2 boys vs. 3 girls (Jensen's)!!

19 Weeks!

Yay, 19 weeks! Can't believe I am almost half way to my due date! Although time hasn't gone too fast or too slow for me. I feel right on track.  I went to the doctor today but honestly my doctor didn't say anything but check the heartbeat. I am definitely looking forward to having a new doctor in Petaluma because I have never experienced a doctor who barely talked to me. He didn't even measure my belly which I thought was strange. I miss Kaiser!!! But anywho, here is a photo you all have been asking for lol...

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4 lbs
Names: We just haven't talked about it because we want to wait to find out the sex :) 1 Week!!
Regular Clothes or Maternity: Both. I put on my maternity jeans today and realized I should have started wearing them a while ago..SO comfortable!!
Stretch Marks: Just from my little Noah Bug :)
Sleep: Sleeping great! Fall asleep right when my head hits the pillow. Would love to bring out my preggo pillow but holding off a little longer.
Fitness: Walking 3 miles almost every day...depends on the weather..it's been pretty cold and windy!
Miss Anything: WINE lol and a deli sandwich.
Baby Movement: Yup! Started feeling it at 18 weeks and loving it. Greg can feel a little rolling but not too much. Can't wait for more! Just hope it's not painful haha!
Food Wants/Needs/Have-to-Haves: This week I've been craving bean burritos lol. I've been making burritos for lunch and they are super yummy. Also, I made a ham the other night and ham sandwiches have been amazing!! Also, back to loving Raisin Bran and pretty over the Lucky Charms.  I eat 2 bowls every morning haha yummm.
Foods that Make You Queasy/Sick: Still Meatloaf...that's about it.
Have You Started Showing Yet: Oh yes! I'd say I'm slightly bigger than what I was at 19 weeks with Noah.
Boy or Girl Predictions: Girl
Labor Signs: Noo
Belly Button In/Out: In but when I'm full, it comes out to say hello ;)
Finding Out the Sex of Baby: December 5th, 1 MORE WEEK!!
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Mood: I'd say it's pretty good, but ask my husband haha.
Pains: Sitting too long, my tailbone starts to hurt.
Feelings About Being Pregnant: Things have definitely changed for the better. I finally feel like a normal person and can enjoy myself. Now I wait to get a little bigger so I don't feel so in between with clothes and all. With Noah, I never felt hungry and never had the "need" to eat. With this pregnancy, I honestly don't feel pregnant. I eat mainly whatever whenever :) I feel very lucky.

2 More weeks until we are back in California. Can't believe it! I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Happy to see family and friends but really going to miss everyone here. I've met some amazing people and can't imagine that happening again in the next place. Hopefully I am wrong and hopefully we will all meet again at some point.

Thanksgiving in Vienna, VA!

Today Greg went back to work, so back on the blog train! We have had a fabulous week together! Wednesday we started our journey to Vienna, VA where we spent Thanksgiving with Greg's aunt, uncle, and cousins. It's about a 4 hour drive, but with stopping a couple times and traffic, it took us about 5 hours. I must say, the drive is absolutely beautiful, I wish I took pictures! We drove through a lot of country roads filled with gorgeous fall trees. It made me really appreciate the east coast and how beautiful it is here!
For Thanksgiving, we went for a morning walk downtown to a cute little bakery called Cenan's Bakery. It was honestly a taste of home! I got a croissant and it reminded me of my favorite bakery in Petaluma (Bovine Bakery). After that, we went over to Phil's (Greg's uncle) cousin's house. We ate delicious food, played volleyball in the backyard (and later at the park), and enjoyed each other's company. Noah had a blast playing with everyone. Let's just say, Noah does not have one "shy" bone in his body. He is definitely his father's son! He was happy to say hello to everyone and run in circles around the house. I was one proud mama! It was a long day for him (without a nap) and he did amazing. He really did amazing the whole weekend. Greg and I feel lucky how great he ALWAYS is around people.

Morning "Tea Time"...Noah LOVES Tea Time

Friday, Greg's family had everyone over for a day of games and leftovers. The food, once again, was very yummy. We played some volleyball, jumped on the trampoline (which Noah LOVED), and played cards. It was a fun day. That night, Greg's family was nice enough to watch Noah while we went and saw a movie. I honestly can't remember the last time Greg and I went on a date so it was nice to get out. We saw "Flight" which was good, but not what I was expecting haha. I just loved spending some one on one time with my hubby. It was much needed!

Stressful game of "Oh Heck" :)

The next morning we packed up our things. We decided to drive home a different way and take the ferry to Cape May. It was another gorgeous drive! Although it was a pretty, as Noah would say "bumpy ride", he had a great time on "Daddy's boat". haha.
Waiting for the ferry...someone needed to burn off some energy!
Driving on the ferry...
 Rough and windy ride!

Thank you Covell's for having us for Thanksgiving. We had the best time and felt so welcome. We feel so lucky that we have family so close. We love you guys!

Gotta LOVE Homecomings!

Greg is HOME! Well..not home home. Unfortunately, he happens to have duty today and won't be off until tomorrow morning. Such a tease! But hopefully he will get a little break and come home tonight for a few hours.
The boat came in around 11:00 this morning. Friends and I decided to head over to the jetty to watch the boat come in and then go over to the pier. It was very very windy!! The boat was pretty lopsided when it was coming in lol! It was great to see the boat and Greg was excited to see Noah. He could tell Noah was excited and clapping like crazy. I can't explain to you how excited Noah was to see daddy. I couldn't tell if Noah understood what was going on but once he saw the boat coming in, I think it clicked. ;) He was jumping up and down, yelling "hi daddy!", and waving. So cute!
When we got to the pier, well it was FREEZING, and it felt like forever until they got off that boat. It definitely took longer than normal to park due to the wind. After 45 minutes, they finally started filing off the boat. Greg was one of the first few out which was awesome. Noah ran right up to him (screaming and all!) and gave him a big hug. It was a proud moment and something I will never forget.

Waving and jumping = awkward photo ha
I see it! I see it! "Daddy's Boat!! Hii"

We left Noah's sign in the car because it was so windy...boo Mommy! ;)
The pier is fixed! Both boats on the pier! Vigorous on the back left, Dependable on the right
Shea and Noah waiting for their Daddies!
 Yay!!
 Family Together Again!

Trick-or-Treating!

Happy Belated Halloween! Due to our lovely friend Sandy coming to visit around Halloween last week, the state of New Jersey moved Halloween to today (November 5th). The kids were so lucky to have a second chance at Trick-or-Treating! The housing on base had a set time for Trick-or-Treaters (5pm-7pm), so we were out at 5:00 and home by 6:30. Noah had a blast! He walked the whole time and was not shy at all. He would mumble his "trick-or-treats" and say his "thank yous".

The 40 degree weather definitely did not stop us. We bundled up as if it we were trick-or-treating in a snow storm. You would never notice Noah was wearing 4 layers of clothing underneath!
We had a big group together trick-or-treating...unfortunately we weren't quite able to stick together. ;)
Towards the end, Noah would ask for candy and then take a seat. He was in need of a little break!
Showing off his full bucket of candy!
What will we do with it all??

As much as I love Halloween, I feel like we have been celebrating for months! I am definitely ready to move on to fall celebrations aka THANKSGIVING! It will be our last holiday in Cape May so I look forward to celebrating! Especially since Greg will be home :)
I wish we could get a Christmas Tree for the 12 days we will be here in December but not sure that will happen. I may have to do something because I want Noah to feel like it is Christmas and really understand. I feel like this year is the year to really teach him about the holidays and he may somewhat understand. This will also be his last holiday season as an only child ;) We will see!

Happy Holiday Season!
